Musical theater, Offenbach

The original building: the synagogue in Offenbach on Main,

Constructed in 1910.  Partially damaged on Krystallnacht in 1938

It was taken over by the Nazis and used as a cinema until the end of WWII

The project

Whilst working in Germany with the office of ABB Architekten we were approached by a theater impresario . They wanted to bring over the Who musical Tommy to Germany, but needed a suitable venue. He found the perfect space and bought the building.

The former Synagogue on Goethestrasse, Offenbach from the 1900's - partially destroyed on Kristallnacht 1938, was a perfect  space.

Design for musical productions

The interior was stripped out, and the open courtyard glazed over for the interval Break-out bars

.
